Namaste – It’s an honor to have you visit us here at Beads Pray Love.

Yoga Mala Beads (prayer beads) are traditionally crafted with 108 beads hand-knotted with the 109th bead considered the ‘Guru Bead’.

There are many theories behind the significance of the number 108, which has long been considered a sacred number in Hinduism and Yoga.

As with many ancient practices, there are a variety of explanations for this traditional number, all of which hold credence. Here’s one that we feel is very relatable.  The number 1 stands for God, the universe or your own highest truth; 0 stands for emptiness and humility in your spiritual practice; and 8 stands for infinity and timelessness.

At Beads Pray Love, the way our malas are made and the materials used in making them also carry significance. Each mala is chanted over as it’s being created to imbue it with a higher spiritual resonance.

The resonance of your mala contributes to your inner growth, higher purpose and in some cases healing.  As you wear or work with your piece, there comes a collaboration where you continue to contribute to it's energy as it in turn supports you.

When we chant mantra (sacred sound) with mala beads, we cannot help but connect with the universe, creator, all that is, and our own higher wisdom. Time often stands still, we have the opportunity to be more fully aware, but have no thought – timelessness indeed!

Each set of Mala Beads from Beads Pray Love is treated as sacred - from the time of inception to the time of being carefully packaged and sent to join you on your life's journey.
